that's pure based on terrible education, but according to "them" who teaches the students that it's all seperate is because of lack of knowledge or based on "that's the way we want to teach it". It's one of those two. Americas is easy to explain (north, central, carib, south) but facts are: it's one continent, America, new world.

Agree that America should be used for the Americas? Based on what? The name America, a continent, means new world. The United States is in America, that's why it's called the United States of America (nationality: USA citizen), what can be read in their passport. The nations of Germany, the United Kingdom, Spain etc are located in Continent Europe. Europeans is a name for people in Continent Europe. Germans, a nationality from Germany, UK nationality: British citizen, Spain (Espanola) etc.
