Показать описание
Primary progressive aphasia (PPA) is a term that refers to a group of dementias that affect a person’s speech and language.

Logopenic aphasia (LPA) also known as the logopenic variant of PPA (lvPPA) is a form of PPA, which can cause difficulties with word-finding. Somebody with LPA might have difficulties with searching for the right word to say, although their ability to physically produce speech is not affected. People with LPA can also get parts of words muddled up, for instance saying “aminal” instead of “animal”.

Charman, who lives with LPA, and her husband Philip discuss their journey and share advice for others who may be affected by a LPA diagnosis. They are joined by Dr Chris Hardy from the UCL Dementia Research Centre who shares clinical insights including causes, symptoms and available support.
