How to fix fondant on cake | Gaely Cake

There are several factors that could affect your fondant's quality but that should not hinder you from achieving your desired cake design. Practicing and researching play important roles in becoming skilled in using fondant on cakes.

Humid countries tend to have sweaty fondant because condensation takes place when chilled cake is brought out from the fridge to a high temperature environment. This is normal, don't panic because when fondant has adapted to the temperature outside the fridge, it will just dry up.

Fondant will crack when its dry. It needs to be very pliable before using it on cakes or molding it. Knead the fondant properly until it becomes pliable again. Sometimes you need to add some drops of water to soften your fondant and then knead it until it becomes pliable.

Hardened or frozen fondant should be brought to room temperature before using. You can chop it into smaller pieces and then knead them together until it becomes pliable again. You can also microwave it to bring back its softness.

"Knead until it becomes pliable."

I just wanted to share this quickly. A cake decorating instructor once told me that the difference between amateurs like me and professionals like him is that he knows how to fix his mistakes. This video is proof of that. I have never seen a video like this one before. It's a keeper!! Thanks again. You made my day 💕

Just add some trex ( vegetable shorting) when needing the fondant before applying to the cake this will help to keep it pliable when your ready to put on the cake and easy on the cornstarch it dries it out

This is a great demonstration for a non-professional cake. It would have been a disaster for a made-to-order cake. Even if you're just practicing how to cover your cake with fondant, there's some great tips here. Thank you for sharing 🙏

Thank you for sharing this! I hate making fondant cakes. Only tried a couple. I cringed at the beginning of this video bc it was exactly what I’ve gone through. Cracks and I also got creases. I think the creases because I panicked and smoothed it super fast to try to stop the cracking. Makes me want to practice more

Wow, I'm deeply impressed! Your video made me feel better now cause sometime I make cracked fondant despite having the correct ingredients and thus, I usually get afraid whenever I want to venture into fondant making. But now, I am all ready to tackle fondants, cracked or not. Thank you so much!!!

Hi great explanations, thx u … just a doubt once we take the ganarish cake out from fridge, it melts … is it ok to put fondant on it … ?
Once the cake is covered with fondant, do we need to keep in fridge or in room temperature?? Will the ganarish inside will melt or sweat …?
If so how long we can jee the fondant cake outside??
Reply please… thx in advance

For sealing the fondant lines, have you dipped with water. In spatula also u dipped with water or mixed fondant with water for covering tht. Each time wen I'm covering the cake, so much cracks r coming like this

Because the fondant is wet from condensation and the fondant used to cover the cracks is not a solid anymore, doesn't the color darken/change with this technique?
