Enlarged Devon crossbody sew

So... Heres is the first part of the attempt to show you how I made an enlarged Devon and turned it into a crossbody with cardslots. Video gets blurry, had to start a new one..... Hope it keeps you entertained!!

Card slot measurements:
4.25 by 25 in
Mark 3.75 then 2in, 2.25, 2, 2.25..... and so on
cut down to 4.25 by 8.25
Add side pieces cut to 4.50 by 8.25 in.

I have made several Devon pouches and love the idea of enlarging it for a crossbody. Where I'm confused is the subcuts of the front panel. Where do you add the 2", 1" to each side accent pieces or 2" to the main panel? I added to the main panel for my first one and I ran into problems when I used a 1.5" boxed corner. What am I doing wrong or not understanding. Thanks for your help.

Did you add 1 inch of height to the panel (A) and then the other inch to the bottom portion?

I’m making this having enlarged all the Devon pouch pieces in the Large size by 2” and I think I’m finding I should only be enlarging the width….is this possible? Train wreck. I’ll continue cutting down to fit the size of the card slot lining piece. Any help from someone who’s done this crossbody version will be much appreciated!

Just to verify. Adding 2 inches to both sides. Like if the pattern calls for a 4 x 5 piece you cut 6 x 7?

Maybe I’m overthinking this but I need clarity before I cut my precious fabric. I have the Devon pattern and am confused as people are saying just add 2” to the 10 inch width…..what? That is not the original dimension in the Sotak pattern. There are 3 lateral pieces going across the front of purse. I can do one inch to each side and leave the center alone, but don’t want that, I’d like center panel larger as that’s my pretty fabric. So does it make sense to increase center panel by one inch, and the bordering side panels then by one half inch? How ever the dimensions come out, should the 3 bordering panels always be the same width or will it look strange if they are not the same width? It seems the do this right there needs to be some math that is hard to measure using imperial measurements (maybe needs to be metric) but I don’t have a metric ruler. Help please!

I don’t know what I did, but my front side panels were way to big when I added 2” to all the measurements.
The video says add 2” to ALL the measurements. After reading the comments, I see this is not the case.

did you add 2" to each of the sides of the pattern pieces ie the individual 4 pieces of the front panel?

So by adding 2 inches to each pattern piece, I’m sorry but it doesn’t make any sense to me, the original pattern, is actually a 10 1/4 x 7 rectangular shape. So I did what you said, added 2inches to the width and height of each piece, and the top piece is short by quite a bit?? Please explain how and where to add the 2inches, as the top piece needs to be 16 1/2 inches in order to have pieces fit correctly
