Nightmare Mode is an addon to the mod Better Than Wolves, one of Minecraft's oldest mods that was originally made to introduce tech to Minecraft. In recent years the community revived the mod by creating a Community Edition of it (CE), and in doing so many players were attracted back to the mod.

Once content creators got a hold of it however, the hardcore survival mechanics of the mod quickly earned it the title "Minecraft's Hardest Mod", as most players who played it were never able to get even close to beating it.

But this was only the beginning. One player (Pot_Tx) who had only just built a crafting table in the mod, decided to make it much harder and created the addon "Mob Enhancement Addon" (MEA), which made the mod exceedingly more difficult than it already was.

Around a year later, another addon inspired by MEA was created by Elmi called Nightmare Mode, an addon that not only increased the game's difficulty far more than MEA, but it also made a huge attempt to fix the problems players had with MEA and the base Better Than Wolves mod.

Nightmare Mode was made to be a challenge mod that focuses heavily on combat, scaling difficulty, Improved boss fights, and Quality of Life. The mod is also continuously supported by the dev, as despite the ludicrous difficulty it has gained a large community due to content creators such as TdLmc and Mudflaps taking it on. With each update, the difficulty only increases, so if you're looking for a challenge, you're staring it right in the face.

I am going to start this mod-pack watching you and mudflaps. I was just wondering like you guys play it on hardcore, is it always hardcore or you can play on survival with normal respawning and not random. And, if not then when we respawn randomly in hardcore, can we like roam around and look for our stuff, maybe marked by a "PILLAR TO THE HEAVENS(build limit)?
