Why the Human Rights Commission's racial quotas are just plain wrong.

I have a mate who is a lawyer and who is Asian. In fact, I believe he was the first Asian lawyer to be accepted on the Victorian Bar, a feat that he and his family are understandably very proud of. So are we saying now that all of his hard work to get to such a position will be trivialised by a heap of Asian people with fewer skills getting in to fill a quota?

Is there a shortage of lawyers in Australia? Because we have a surplus of lawyers in the U.S. I don't know if they're Asian or not, though. I just know that a few years ago there was strong discouragement here for people wanting to study law because the job prospects after graduation were so bad. If you have extra legal jobs, we could shop that opportunity to our law schools. We could ask a few lawyers in practice if they would like to immigrate to Australia. Looks like a pretty nice place.

Racial quotas are a stepping stone to totalitarianism. Governments telling the population what they can work as, like that movie (Gattaca) is Un-Australian to me . The Australian way is freedom and jobs based on merit.

If there are too many Asians in some jobs like doctors we need to reduce them and kick them out of their jobs. Too many Asians in banking and accountancy kick them out. Racial quotas is what we need.

Just watched a program on the ABC about how wonderful this 'Moroccan soup bar Fitzory Melbourne. Well, fits in with this video, because they only hire women, and Muslim women, no diversity in sight. So are the government going to make this Muslim women to diversify her work force? No, it'd be racist and sexist to tell a Muslim woman to hire anything but Muslim women.  And another point, she was dumb enough to show the kitchen. There was dirty dishes piled up next to a prep' area, the owner was out the front, then went out back, prepping food with out putting gloves on. But I would bet the health department ignore these sort of health breaches, they don't want to be racist. Women during service, getting on the kitchen floor to prey, then back to work handling food. How they haven't killed anyone yet with food poisoning is beyond me.
