This lecture is was created for use in Thermodynamics for Mechanical Engineers at the Rochester Institute of Technology.
This video gives an in depth discussion on how to use the First Law of Thermodynamics in closed systems. It explains how we calculate the change in energy (kinetic energy, potential energy, spring energy, & internal energy), heat transfer, and work in a closed system. We conclude with an example for how to use the first law for a closed system.
