Turkey Banning Roblox is GOOD

Roblox has been banned in the country of Turkey and it may actually be a good thing for Roblox. Why did Turkey ban Roblox and why does it make sense?

It's not the actual moderators, it's just the number of moderators. Roblox has to keep away bad things while still being appealing to investors.

Y'know, my first reaction to that title was negative, but after watching most of the video I actually agree. It's extremely unfortunate for the players themselves, but Roblox's had this coming for a long while now. They really need to get more serious about this stuff.

I get that user freedom to express yourself is important, but at the same time the platform is advertised as safe for all ages when it's obviously not. The amount of predatory advertising/cash-grabbing in some of these "children's" games is ridiculous. And everyone knows it.

Honestly I hope roblox takes the reasons into account instead of focusing everything on investors and the “metaverse”. We seriously need someone to stop the messed up UGC, which includes extremely sexual and inappropriate content and it’s even worse knowning that roblox is a game for children (mainly). Roblox NEEDS to wake up and fix this stuff.

Turkey is only banning roblox because of political reasons, 4chan and Instagram are also getting banned for the same reason

Im just sad because i have a friend who lives in Turkey and we used to play almost everyday together and now i can't play with him anymore. I was screen sharing something that came out on a game that we used to play together and he looked so sad.

Let's be real; this is due to journalism games on Roblox. There will always be a game exposing things the Turkish government doesn't want its people to see. Banning it was the only solution, especially since they're unlikely to invest in a special Roblox website like China did. Turkey doesn't prioritize its children that much.

You do realize that the Turkish government is authoritarian so that’s one of the big reasons. You can use Roblox as a way to reveal history of the country. For example Ruben sim’s video about getting a Chinese roblox player over the firewall.

You do NOT know the governing entity in Turkey. They probably heard something along the lines of "This game includes LGBTQ stuff" or whatever and decided to ban it without a care in the world. Instagram got banned here 5 days ago as well. Wattpad got banned too 😭

Also how is this a good thing at all? Turkish developers lost their jobs and many kids lost the game they used to distract themselves from the bad things going on in Turkey, of course, its not bad as, say, Iran or Palestine, but people here did not deserve this. It's like the government is trying to make everyone hate them, its insane. Now probably anyone who used Instagram or played roblox, which will become over 18 by the time next elections roll around will not vote for them? RTE screwing himself over or what?

Update: Pretty sure a game who criticized the govenrment for their spending of taxpayers' money got banned a few days ago, yeah 😊

I'm Turkish and I know the Turkish government quite good.
Their reasoning is probably just an excuse, they did the same thing to Instagram.
There are A LOT of Roblox experiences which humiliate Recep Tayyip Erdoğan (Türkiye's President) and Atatürk (which I don't think the problem is), and they are not just criticizing, they usually make some really bad Dark Humor which if they did in the streets they would literally get arrested. (Same thing for Insta)
But you are right, this will be great for Roblox

i see your point in the video, it makes sense but what you have to keep in mind that in the recent weeks they have banned instagram aswell. this is basically censorship and the ban was not justified in anyway, it was outright done in a matter of hours. plus, there are many worse sites that are still accessible
