Thanks man, love listening to this while being productive.
Edit: Getting a "Mystery Science Theater 3000" vibe with this podcast. Now you just need to master the "Red Dwarf" Series vibe. Loving it :P

I'm running an AMD Ryzen 7 2700X with the Wraith Prism cooler in a Corsair Obsidian 250D ITX case. No temperature issues at all. Also running stock, since I don't see any point in OC'ing the 2700X since XFR will do it's thing quite well.

FYI .. the last order date on Kaby Lake-X will be November 30 2018 - thats when Intel will update the ARK page .. so you have a few more months left to get your orders in.

I did notice the snappiness problem you mentioned in earlier videos. On all my ryzens after the more recent bios updates it has improved quite a lot compared with launch though i did manage to find a wall with my 8700k when it was doing some intense multicore workload and having a browser open running youtube. This is where my 1700 and 1800x really shines it was able to handle multicore workload and run netflix or youtube videos in the background without issue. Other than that ive had the best world of warcraft experience on 8700k but cant wait to test the 2700x in raiding streaming to see the improvements there as i was getting some issues with its particle fx and stuff around the world, raid finders mythic raids and seeing the fps tank was driving me nuts so i hope the 2700x latency tweaks really smooth that issue out. Im also getting an x470 board to fully upgrade as i only had b350 boards on my 1700 and 1800x..

Intel projects first gen 10nm to have lower transistor performance than 14nm++ anyway, so in the short them they probably won't be in *too* much trouble as they have the upcoming 8 core / 16 thread CFL chips, which should put them back into the lead for mainstream desktop, considering they will have core parity plus higher IPC and clockspeeds.

Of course, as high performing as Intel's 14nm process is, it would be a tough ask to compete against AMD's 7nm chips, so Intels 10nm delays are probably going to hurt them more in the longer term, say 2020 and beyond, unless they get their act together soon.

Just wanted to point out that IPC is arhitecture dependent and just shrinking the manufacturing node won't improve it. 7nm will result in improved efficiency (and temps as a result) as well as frequency ceiling.

However I do think AMD will improve the architecture as well, as currently their IPC is held back by the infinity fabric.

What's your say?

The only reason i upgraded to an 8700k was because i have a gsync monitor and a 1080ti, My next build will be a ryzen for sure :)
