That INT by Hunter was off of great team defense! Notice how they all recognized how to adjust to the WR’s route running. Great coaching!!!

People who dont live in Texas or the south in the summer do not appreciate the incredible conditioning needed to play 147 snaps in 100f+ heat. It is incredible that he did that just from a physical standpoint. Ive watched football 30 plus years and that was truly truly rare.

Love the analysis! In all the highlights for the interception by Travis Hunter no one mentioned that he fell off the slant by the receiver and covered the wide open back! Wow! Then he had the skill to roll to ensure he held on to the interception. Not only that, he executed that after covering half the field to catch the running back who had broken away from the goal line to score!!

Great breakdown. Travis was phenomenal. Most people will never understand the game he played. He was 2 catches away on offense from 180+ yards and 2 TDs. He also could’ve had another INT that he had no business even being near that ball.

Instincts are amazing.

I think you have given the BEST criteria of this entire subject with out the slick attacks thrown in hands down very professional I really enjoyed it and agree with every word you spoke.

What all upcoming teams need to recognize is that even after all the snaps he took, was how fresh he looked after the game. It really didn’t look like he even broke a sweat! Scary!

He was absolutely the most motivated of any player I’ve seen on both sides of the field

I saw Travis Hunter post a video showcasing his behind the scenes stuff before the game.. and During that Interception some TCU fan said "Throw it to Hunter!" and immediately Hunter picked it off and the camera guy turned around and said "Who said it?!" And the fan flipped off the camera 😂

Regarding Travis Hunter, The facial reactions of the TCU fans realizing there was an interception says it all.

The minute I saw hunter’s pick, I knew he was something special. 99times out of 100 that’s either an incomplete pass or a TD. He was so wide open, then the gap closed like the gaps on the line during a run play.

We called it "shake it" coverage for man to man defensive adjustments. The rule is if your man breaks in or out within the first 5 yards from the line of scrimmage you pass them off to the next defender while reading the replacement route that is coming to you and you make a play on the ball. If the receiver doesn't until after the first 5 yards, then you stay with him. This is an adjustment against an offense that runs pick routes, especially at the goalline. Also, when taught well, the DBs and LBs can have the autonomy to make the adjustments on the field and call it themselves, too. And as everyone witnessed on Saturday, it is beautiful when executed.

Hunter STOLE THAT BALL! It was in the receivers hands! edit: Colorados offensive tempo and altitude will be the key against the Big Red D. Colorado will stack the box and play man. Nebraska does not have the offensive weapons to stretch the field! Hunter has 2 interceptions!
