Like how you go from the first floor with standard classy looking stuff for a medieval tower, than the 2nd and 3rd levels are very gimmick theme park gimmicks before the 4th floor is basically Detroit.

What’s funnier is that the 5th floor is where the really creepy shit sets in.

For being literally slums, it has the 2 out of 3 places keeping the tower alive, the peppibot factory and pig city excluding the farm from floor 2.

The Slum actually takes place in an industrial city, which would make sense why the noise billboard, the telephone booth, noisette's cafe, the pig city (which is probably the city itself), the pepibot factory, the "Oh Shit!" level, the freezerator, and fake peppino's boss level all take place in the slum. because they're all in the city, which makes of sense for fake peppino's boss level, because it takes place in his "restaurant", and restaurants usually take place in citys, how the hell did i miss that

I love how this level perfectly sets up the mood for the fourth boss. Unlike the previous floors, the entire fourth floor has a dark tone to its establishment. Aside from the Refrigerator, all of the levels have a more gritty tone with less color and a more bleak atmosphere to each level.

My head cannon with the rats are that the one that comes in with the melody is a child, and the others in the background are his parents, most likely arguing.
