LG G8X ThinQ with Dual Screen Android Phone - DEMO & REVIEW

The LG G8X ThinQ is a solid option for an Android phone, featuring LG's typical great audio and solid video capture options, but the G8X has a trick up its sleeve: the (optional, additional cost) Dual Screen unit. Together, you get a cool dual screen Android smartphone with good battery life, a rather amazing selfie camera and a 3.5mm audio jack.

But is it a good phone for the money?

When you compare the g8x with a dual screen vs a galaxy fold, price makes the g8x a knock out the park

I really love mine. I'm the tech/IT guy in my social circle. I'm currently working on learn more skills. Reading articles or watching videos while practicing even note taking on the same device is turning out to be helpful. This thing is a multi-tasking beast. I love using the full screen keyboard mostly but heard great things about the game pad. There is a lot of tools and features that make this really fun. I think you under-sold it my friend.

Purchased mine here in Canada for $850 ($646 USD). That plus it's hybrid design (phone can be used as a standalone) is what actually sold me. Can't disagree with much of what you said but think it's a decent well rounded device if purchased w/DualScreen, one finds second screen a useful addition, and the price is right. Although slow my in-display fingerprint sensor works 98% of the time even w/screen protectors applied (had glass on phone now PET film on both displays).

Got mine for 699 with 2nd screen plus 200 dollar rebate. All the apps flip orientation now. And it is great for reading books...text skips past the bezel in the center

Great video, Dave. I could watch the snow stream all day. Maybe you should put a tripod outside and mount the phone out there and record several hours.

You can get the phone + screen case for $700 at AMAZON. AT&T recently had a BF deal where you got the phone free with a contract, and +$200 for the screen case. Sprint recently had a deal where the whole kit was free with a new contract. If I hadn't already gotten a phone a few months ago, I would have been all over this. My personal favorite feature is being able to use the keyboard in landscape mode on one screen, while an app takes up the entirety of the other screen. This can be great for faster typing and for using RDP into a remote PC.

As for the "fingerprint magnet" aspect of the external case, I'd get a matte plastic screen protector for it. It's unlikely anyone makes one that is specific to this accessory, so you can get one made for an 8 inch tablet and and cut it to size.

Cool idea. Now they need to work on the battery life because as of now that case drains your phone like no other! And most reviews are keeping that part hush for some reason. I wouldn't want to buy a device with a
$600+ price tag, and that its main selling point is a case, and that case drains my battery in 2 hours. That battery won't last long with that amount of charging throughout the year 👌

If the phone is in the case, does it support data transfer or OTG by using magnetic adapter?
