Who was Oppenheimer?

Robert Oppenheimer, known as the father of the atomic bomb, was an American physicist born on April 22, 1904. He played a major role in the development of the atomic bomb as a leading scientist in the Manhattan Project during the war. In 1945, an atomic bomb called “Little Boy” was dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Oppenheimer himself played a key role in building this bomb. He later made world history by saying, “Now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds.” He went down in world history.
