I have no religion, I'm not baptised, christened nor have I had any other religious ceremony. I watch this at least once a day. I find it uplifting and calming in equal measures. Fabulous.

I came here for the comments because I knew they would be awesome. I have friends who are hasidic so let me try to explain what you are seeing. This is called the "mitzvah dance". It occurs after most of the wedding is over. So the ceremony has taken place, they have all eaten dinner and already danced. In the Jewish faith, men and women do not mingle with each other (except for those who are very closely related) so the dancing takes place on two separate sides of a very large room separated by a room divider. The women have already all danced with the bride. Now, at the end (usually between 2 and 4 a.m.) the father, grandfather and other close Male relatives are dancing before the bride. The women ARE there watching, but it is considered immodest for them to appear on camera. And it is not a dog leash that she is holding as some pointed out. It is a fabric belt that hasidic men wear around their waists. She holds one end, and the men hold the other end because it is inappropriate for them to touch in public so this is how they connect to each other.
So this is kind of like a father daughter dance...
I understand that this culture is very hard for many to comprehend....but this is their tradition for hundreds of years...

That was a vast number of wedding gifts coming their way... or a vast sum of monetary gifts 🎁

I have never seen anything like this ceremony before, it's mesmerizing, I love the hats, and jackets, dancing, they have something that is missing in most of today's culture a powerful sense of community.

Great, I'm gonna be stuck with the melody until tomorrow lol. I love how the "lai lai" follows the father's tempo and speed. I saw it in other videos where the father is slightly older and the tempo is slower. I think it's a final acknowledgment for the father's up-bring daughter, its almost like cheering him up to not feel sad about his daughter goes to her husband. I could be going into too deep but I enjoy watching these weddings, its quite emotional.

Its beautiful and I find it fascinating. Love how modest the bride is too. Imagine 100 of years they been doing this. These are God's people. Much respect for them.

I feel really moved while watching this and hearing this music. Very deep and good. Anyway, I guess I am a friend of the Jewish religion. All the best for the married couple and the whole community! Greetings from Germany

As an engineer, I hope that those bleachers were designed to carry those scandalous loading systems.

I am so pleased/relieved that such an extraordinary tradition, despite so much dread Jews endured, can prosper in peace in both US and Israel. God bless!

This nation seems to know how to live, express love, joy, unity. Well done. My heart grew bigger during listening.

I am watching this beautiful event once a day, just to restore my lost hope in humankind.

I grew up in this neighborhood in Brooklyn as did my mother. In the 40’s & 50’s on Shabbat shed would turn their lights on that evening.

This is an honourable dance, for the new bride, it is a celebration, and whilst not shown here she will have been doing a lot of dancing with the other female guests at the wedding, it’s performed by her new father in law and sometimes with a rebe(Rabbi),
