I'd like to note that it'd be more interesting to address that pigs are used to find truffles more commonly than dogs, given their also heightened sense of smell yet regularity in finding truffles.

Depends on the truffle. “Basic” black truffles are just eh and don’t taste like as much as they cost. But the crazy expensive truffles add a lot more flavor.

When I was a wee 10 year old lad, i had an amazing experience on my trip in London where there was a italian street food place. They saw me, and offered me a free sample of pasta with truffle in it. It was amazing, and the shop owner was one of the most kindest lads I’ve talked to in my life.

I've been a chef for 23 years(not a boast, just for context) or so and in my "professional " opinion truffles aren't all that great. They're good and have a multitude of uses, but they aren't near as good a people make them out to be.. Truffles oil on the other hand is heavenly. I've always been underwhelmed by actual truffles however. My advice, go for the truffle oil. It taste better and will give you more "bang for you buck." You can also buy truffle oil blends if you're looking for someone even cheaper. I'm not saying to not eat truffles. They are good any have a multitude of uses. I'm just saying that they tend to be overhyped. Many chefs think that if you add truffles to something that is will magically make it amazing and "sophisticated ". I don't want truffles on my damn burger just so you can charge me $50 for it. That doesn't make it any better. In fact it makes it worse. Burgers are good just how they are. Adding expensive ingredients doesn't make you Escoffier. Lol.

When I was in Vegas I had dinner with my dad, it was about 300 for the both of us. I got a huge steak and truffle French fries. Certified best food I've ever had in my life

Fun fact we have a truffle farm in Canberra(capital of Australia) the guy jason managed to cultivate truffles with trees that were about 1 to 2 years old and even has managed to get the infamous white truffle to somewhat spread it's spore on younger trees.
