Why, because it didn't have Michael Myers in it? Give me a break. This is one of - if not the best of - the Halloween sequels. It's got an original story, a creepy atmosphere, one of John Carpenter's best scores, disturbing special-effects and great acting by Tom Atkins, Stacey Nelkin and the late Dan O'Herilhy.

This film has more to do with the holiday of Halloween than all of the sequels combined. It's a classic and deserves respect.

this movie is a classic. i love it and always have. its very smart. its social commentary, and in a way it makes sense that so many people didnt get it. ironically, thats kind of the whole point of the movie. its like the movie is saying all the people who were pissed myers wasnt in it should explode into bugs and snakes..

I saw this movie back in ‘82 i was just 16 I actually liked it I remember walking out of the theatre and saw people saying it sucked because Michael Myers wasn’t in it

I remember my older brothers renting this in the 90s, and I was really young...probably around 10....and I somehow managed to stick around to watch the movie and at the time it TERRIFIED me....those pod men walking around seeing everything, killing anyone that poses ANY kind of threat...scared me straight!

This actually one of the best stories apart from the first Halloween film. I like the fact it got nothing to do with Michael Myers. The fact it concentrates on Samhain and technology. The important of Sacrifice. I love the ending of the film where you don't know if they managed to pull it off or not. Yes so the main character is sort of anti hero. The music by John Carpenter is amazing. Very much feel of Vangelis / Stuart Copeland. Highlights how pagans festivals and Christian festivals in General have succumbed to capitalism. One of my favourite Halloween films of all time.

Even the trailer is awesome. I would honestly say that this is only behind the original Halloween I & II. Although Rob Zombie’s first remake in 2007 is a classic too. This movie has it all. Gore, violence, great acting, original script, very high scare factor, and an incredible synth score. The one obvious thing missing here is Mr. Myers but it doesn’t matter because this movie is great without him. Sorry MM fans.

I've seen parts of this movie a long long time ago but wasn't so sure if it was actually a Halloween movie. Then I tried doing an internet search and it turns that somehow it actually IS part of the long running movie franchise. How the heck is this a Halloween movie without Michael Meyers even being involved in it?
