Thanks for taking the time to make this video Dan, lots of creators wouldn't make the effort but huge props for maturely, responsibly and calmly breaking down the elephant in the room for a lot of people going into Berserk. This series isn't for everyone and its important to acknowledge that, but its awesome you treat your audience with respect and recognize they can have the intelligence to form their own opinions when deciding whether or not to approach this story

I just did a quick search and apparently is another guy called Kentaro Miura that works in the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology, crazy coincidence

Loved this video, it's still remarkable to me that Berserk feels like a timeless Greek tragedy, while only being about 30 years old. Miura's ability to somehow inject his story and characters with an almost mythological feel is so impressive in my book.

Berserk is S-Tier Literature, not just fantasy or Manga.

Miura is a very special case where I can completely believe he hasn't experienced any grief in his life and he still is able to write these themes. When you watch interviews with him it's very clear how seriously he takes his work going so far as to prioritize all death scenes for himself in the art over his assistants because to him when he draws he embodies every character and to him he must be there at both their creation and their death. Every life in his world is meaningful and treated with care.

You actually got my eye on the series with your reviews ( I didn't watch them because of spoilers, but I knew you really liked it).
Now, a few months later, I'm reading the series and watching your reviews for the read-a-long (did the same thing with One Piece), and I'm definitely enjoying it so far! Just finished the Golden Age arc.

This video was a little late for me, but hopefully you can get others on board to read it as well! It would've sold me if I wasn't already reading it that's for sure.

It's always been very hard for me to describe in words how I feel about this story. You really hit the nail on the head though when you said how "seen" you felt by Miura. There's so many moments I can point to that made me realize how much I love Berserk. It's absolutely crazy that this one piece of art has changed and touched so many readers lives.

I always heard about how good Berserk is but never got around to reading it until you started your reviews. Thank you Daniel as your compassion for this series is what made me start my journey into Berserk. As someone who's suffered through a history of self harm and suicide attempts, this story has had a bigger impact on me than I ever could imagine. I don’t know if the Deluxe Editions catch all the way up to Volume 41, but I wouldn’t mind Volume reviews once the Deluxe Editions finish up.

Dead giveaway with my pfp being the brand but I LOVE Berserk. Berserk was a medium for my group of high school friends. we would sit and read Berserk at our lunch table and admire the beauty of the art panels and the brutal horrific fight scenes. It was something we all got together for and waited every day for new chapters ( and hiatuses) While we each had our own personal relations to this manga. Rather it be from foul personal relationships, wide amounts of trauma or just the sheer amount of violence we adolescences enjoyed, it was magnificent. As we grew older and re-read the books from page 1, we picked up new things and connected even more. Guts struggles, his pain and anguish of the Eclipse. the sheer amount of character growth and development is absolutely wonderfully done. This series is one of the few that I hold so many attachments and memories to. To friends gained and lost, memories made and to remember, both good, bad, and awful. The brand was my first tattoo I ever got, same spot as Guts under an eclipse October 14th, 2023. (yeah corny but I like it) So glad to encounter a channel who also spills over the pages of the late Muria, Rest in peace. Fight on, fellow strugglers.
