Weekend weather 08/08/2024 – Heat and humidity building – Met Office weather forecast UK

This is the Met Office UK Weather forecast for the weekend 08/08/2024.

Saturday will start a bit cloudy and wet for much of England and Wales but it will turn sunnier, whilst showers are expected further north. Then Sunday will be a mostly sunny day and hot in the southeast, Then temperatures are likely to rise even further for Monday, when some thunderstorms are possible. Why is your iPhone app so inaccurate ?
Today in Todmorden it stated, overcast and light rain from 5am until midday
In reality it was almost cloudless, lovely and sunny until 11:30

The app then stated heavy rain from Midday and all afternoon.
We had some very light drizzel from 1pm to 1:30.
As of posting this ( 15:35 ) it's now dry, there has been NO heavy rain at all.

The default Apple weather app got it bang on

Not sure what's going on with your wind arrows there - in the later maps, those wind arrows do not reflect the pattern of the isobars one bit!

You must be joking!! Hot weather and high humidity together are unhealthy for all of us. As an experienced weather man you should be incorporating a health warning into your forecast. You actually make it sound exciting!!!!

20-25 is NOT hot it’s mild. Why do you think most of us go to hotter places for holidays?? 25 should not be colored red ! Its freezing!!!!
