People weren't laughing because they didn't know if they should. JP explains it in the talk actually. Part of his weirdness is how he's humorous but sincere in the same sentences and it confuses people at first.

Their silence is what happens when you are brushing against deep pains. So very well done sir.

I will have to show this to my daughter. She used to be "weird" until she learned not to because she was not like everyone else!! I hope she finds the courage to let it shine through again. Great talk!!

We should seriously not take ourselves so seriously: On a JP binge watch.

I totally agree with your perspective! I am a retired teacher of 40 years and one major point I always drove home in my classroom is…WEIRD IS WONDERFUL! I think everyone has quirks or different ways of thinking or doing something. Many feel bad about themselves or others because of these quirky things. So, by valuing these differences we need to recognize that WEIRD IS WONDERFUL. This gave my students permission to being different. Especially when I recognize that I am weird and always have been. This helped me to value my person even in the midst of bullying while I was growing up. It always makes me smile when I hear students and/or their parents reiterate my motto…WEIRD IS WONDERFUL! I pray that this carries through another generation to help heal the self esteem of our hurting children.

I couldn't find any single person to admire. I'm not kidding. There is not one single person that I have admiration for.

"I'm too spiritual to be religious so I'll intend for you". JP is too funny.

I really like that he talked about his tendency (or ability?) to be both humorous and sincere in the same sentence. That was something that I didn't fully "get" about JP at first, and now that I have, he is so, so much funnier than before and I take what he says as... more significant? Authentic? It's hard for me to nail down, but I appreciate his humor SO much more now, because it helps me laugh at myself more. Or WITH myself, more accurately.
This was a good talk. I enjoyed this.

JP voice, it's tone and sound...is so soothing and comforting to me. I feel JP is like my uncle, father, grandfather, brother, son and nephew. Thanks JP

What a great talk! Growing up I was heavily bullied, so I can definitely see that I've strived for approval and dimmed down my "weirdness." It's crazy how much someone like J.P. expressing his weirdness and his authenticity, inspires others (including myself) to do the same! Reminds me of that quote by Marianne Williamson: "in shining our light, we unconsciously give others permission to do the same." Thank J.P. For shining your light!

I've been weird all my life so I enjoyed the emotionless connection to this video. 😁

I can't believe how little his audience got his jokes.

It’s not easy to reach an audience that is hearing these things for the first time. This audience in particular seemed comprised mostly of business class still even trying to grasp “Spirituality”mentality. Not surprised that they were unprepared for “Ultra Spirituality” when they haven’t gotten to New Age yet. Just my impression. I’m sure they didn’t know if he was serious or not because combining comedy with the sacred is very hard for most people. I’ve heard many life-coaches and spiritualists talk and have gotten something out of it but when Jp came along- he had me laughing at myself because he touched on some heavy insecurities of mine that I didn’t know I had and after I laughed- I realized I was laughing at myself then thought about that. It made me want to hear more of what he had to say because I was finding out about me in a non-threatening, unafraid way. When I look back from the future at my journey and how much I evolved, I will say JP Sears was one of my teachers.

Wow this video sent me into tears. Everyone suppresses something it seems, "weirdness" has been definitely mine. As I got older I feared judgement of being misunderstood or being called immature. I was so afraid of these judgements that I unintentionally  caused a lot of pain and disconnection toward myself. Hearing jp's story was super healing. I already feel better. Thank you jp!

It truly is amazing. When my father passed away, it was his weirdness that I remembered the most. The things that make you a unique individual, the things that made up his personality and made him different from other people. I agree 100% embrace your differences, your weirdness. How boring would the world be if we were all the same? All of this is what makes you who you are and you should be truly proud of that.

i watched his videos years ago, then all of a sudden he changed. it actually started to become awesome. everything he was trying to say in a serious matter just started to come out. it is like SNL or most comedy in general. they can say the things that we think and they are the only ones that can really say it.
