I have an interest in physics and I'm thinking of majoring in it during my premed. What are your thoughts on this? Do you think that it's doable or is the subject too irrelevant or too far off from medicine that it would only render the MCAT more challenging to get a high score on?

Hello Dr Gray, hope you are well. I have a question about clinical experience. I’m someone who is switching careers and want to know if my social work internship counts as clinical hours. In graduate school I interned as a clinical social work intern where I did patient intakes, created care plans and also facilitated group and individual therapy. I have interned at a domestic violence center as well as a Tbi center during my social work career and I have over 1000 hours. While taking my pre reqs for medical school I have been working in an after school center as a STEM teacher in a NYC public school. I create chemistry and biology lessons for my students. Do you think my hours count? Im going back to school to become a psychiatrist and start a non for profit mental center in NYC. As a non traditional student I would really love to hear what you have to say. Thank you so much for your time, hope to hear from you !
