Exactly what I was looking for. I know draining and refilling a system is all in days work for an experienced engineer, but to a DIYer like me, who might only ever do this once, these videos will help me not to make any stupid mistakes. And... it's crammed with jokes and singing too! C'mon guys...what's not to like?! Cheers pal.

Superb video thank you. Used this a year or two ago then came back to it when putting bigger rads in. Really clear instruction. You should be a teacher.

I bloody did it!
With the aid of your videos, I somehow managed to replace my old crappy radiator for a nice looking new one. I had to add tail extensions, and figure out how my house was plumbed, but your tips for the not so plumb-savvy really helped!
When should I get a blow torch? :D

Don't even own a house where I need to know these things. Just subscribed to this channel purely for the iconic ADHD energy.

Great, I missed out the step where you open the valve with the water turned on. Couldn't get the air out! After watching this sorted. Many thanks. Jim

Yo PP, make a vid or two on draining down and filling up a pressurised system i.e combi boiler, keep up the good work

Followed these helpfull tips but at the end it seems a bit half arsed. In my case after refilling the system my boiler would not produce hot water. This turned out to be an air block in the central heating pump. If you think you have the same problem undo the large chrome screw on your pump. A little water will appear, use a rag. Straight away I could hear the air escaping and the water rushing up from the boiler to the tank.

I don't suppose I'll still get replies to a 9 year old video but I'm finding these videos very useful and helpful.

I was wondering where to drain the radiators off when you have a flat and no garden to drain the pipes into. Do I just keep opening and closing the lowest drain point into a bucket?

I've seen other videos where they change valves etc without draining the system but the tank has been installed in a nice and inaccessible location so draining my only option

Class videos. maybe you have one already but if not, somebody should award you with a PhD/professorship (whatever) in plumbing.

I recently changed a radiator on my pressurized system. Pressure of 1 bar holding well, no leaks, all rads nice and hot... except when i go to heat the hot water!? Pressure falls away to nothing, gas boiler shuts off..no sign of leak anywhere!? Could it be an internal hot water tank issue?...tundish a little damp

Hello. Your video clear and interesting. I tried to follow but failed. Do you have any idea why my heating system can not fill up. No water comes out from the ground floor heater where I tried to let it run out for 10 mins as shown in video? Thanks.
