Hello fans, Welcome to Suzy Gist where we share trending celebrities news. It is sad to know that Cindy Williams passed away on January 25 in Los Angeles. She was most known for her long-running television role as Shirley on the slapstick sitcom "Laverne & Shirley" from the 1970s. She was 75 years old and we can only ne thankful that she reached that age. Her aide, Liza Cranis, revealed by phone on Monday that she had died after a brief illness and had passed away "peacefully." The reason wasn't stated. Her relatives made the announcement of her passing without mentioning the cause of death. So we can't really tell with accuracy what really happened. Ms. Williams made her acting debut in the 1973. She was cast in George Lucas picture "American Graffiti," which would go on to define her career. She received a British Academy Film Awards nomination for best supporting actress for her role as Laurie in the movie. She appeared in the Francis Ford Coppola film "The Conversation" the following year, which along with "American Graffiti" received an Academy Award nomination for best picture.
Additionally, Ms. Williams appeared in an audition for Carrie Fisher's portrayal of Princess Leia in the "Star Wars" film series.
She was most well-known for "Laverne & Shirley," a "Happy Days" spinoff that aired on ABC from 1976 to 1983 and was, during its prime, one of the most watched television programs. In the 1950s and 1960s, it followed two young, single women who worked in a brewery in Milwaukee. Shirley Feeney, played by Ms. Williams, was a cheery and subdued compliment to Ms. Marshall's abrasive Laverne DeFazio.
DeFazio was quick-tempered and defensive; Feeney was naive and trusting. The plot was inspired by the actors' personal life. Later in her career, Ms. Williams appeared as a guest star on popular television programs like "Law & Order: SVU" and "7th Heaven." She also received stage credits for a number of productions, including the Broadway version of "The Drowsy Chaperone," in which she briefly played Mrs. Tottendale. But Shirley was her most well-known name.
Ms. Williams previously characterized her as "kind of an optimist, kindhearted, repressed, temperamental, un-loving person." Although Shirley's ambitions were never directly shown on screen. she continued, "I always perceived her as having this anxiety," noting that both Laverne and Shirley aspired to the conveniences of contemporary life. To me, that was what Ms. Williams described as the melancholy of those characters. "What if it never occurs? Where are we then? And in a way, that was also my life".

According to Marshall, "We'd come up with a list at the beginning of each season of what abilities we had. "We exploited Cindy's ability to connect her tongue to her nose in the act. I danced the taps".
The opening song of the series, "Give us any chance, we'll take it, read us any rule, we'll break it," was powerful and self-aware, making it a rare network hit about characters from the working class.

On August 22, 1947, in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Van Nuys, Cynthia Williams, the younger of two sisters, was born. Many of us here were not born yet, however, I was born on 22 of August, though not in the year 1947 as Cindy, but in 1974. A good reason while I am creating this content. Her father, an electronics specialist, moved the family to Texas for several years to try farming before returning to Southern California. Her mother worked as a waitress.

Last year, Ms. Williams appeared in a one-woman stage show full of stories from her career, “Me, Myself and Shirley,” at a theater in Palm Springs, Califonia., near her home in Desert Hot Springs. Her marriage to singer Bill Hudson of musical group the Hudson Brothers ended in divorce. He was previously married to Goldie Hawn and is also the father of actor Kate Hudson. Ms. Williams is survived by her children, Emily and Zak Hudson, who, in a statement on Monday, described their mother as “one of a kind,” noting her sense of humor and “glittering spirit.” Her marriage to the musician Bill Hudson ended in divorce.

She didn’t leave because of a feud with Penny. She was pregnant & they had her scheduled to work that day when she was about to give birth. Do your research before posting.
