I learned that line weight marking system from Ralph Cutter in the late 90s.

I like the idea of the large diameter. Proper h as nd position is howrver wher it comforably balances the rod. Not alwayz atvthe front of the handle. Some rods have long ish handles for more leverage for big fish.
