Mr. Brown could've used a plethora of other arguments rightly or wrongly opposing the action of the AFL...but to say because something isn't "illegal" is you know what poor one. The law/legality of something is a very low bar and shouldn't be used as an arbiter of personal moral/ethical behaviour. There's plenty of things that are "legal" because a state that legislates every single type of behaviour would rightfully be seen as one where freedom didn't exist. But if your buddies only reason why he doesn't date people below the age of majority is "because it's illegal" and not because it's wrong/inappropriate on its own merits you would probably join the rest of society in looking at him sideways
