Blasphemous 2 Preview: It Feels Much More Like a Proper Metroidvania

We had a blast trying out different weapon combinations and testing our mettle in Blasphemous 2, the upcoming 2D pixel-art soulslike sequel to the 2019 original. Previewed on PC by Travis Northup.

The first game was so much better than a lot of higher rated Metroidvanias, especially after the great updates and free DLC.

Blasphemous is a top 5 modern Metroidvania to me, along the likes of Astalon, Hollow Knight, Axiom Verge, and Environmental Station Alpha. (shouts out to Ori 2, Bloodstained, and Salt & Sanctuary too)

We all know Hollow Knight is at the top as one of the best Metroidvania's, but in my opinion Blasphemous is right there as well. Can't wait.

Mea Culpa was great but the weapon change was what I'm looking for in the first game. This addition adds a little more style into the game, especially when the weapons are used for puzzles.

Blasphemous 2 was supposed to be the 2nd of the indie horsemen, but no news from silksong or hades 2, these 2 were said to come this year, hades in early acces.
