Corner Floor Lamp & WLED

There has been a lot of stir over a Chinese corner lamp.
Lots of emails regarding this lamp. rip offs, scams and poor quality, could I do better ? Cheaper ?

Yes by almost £100, its not perfect, but its better than the original. Full code credit to WLED - Aircookie, again its not perfect - but it does the job.

Its not to my taste but it had potential. I did see someone build a setup with the same style using a stereo vu meter. Now that is more my style, maybe something to come. A joint pattern and vu meter build using the same setup for 2021....

I used WLED this xmas just passed with some WS2812b led strips. It works great. Another very useful function of it is that if you have more than one WLED lights controller and string of lights working together. i.e. 2 or 3 or more esp8266's running lights say along an eaves and maybe around a window frame as well, or whatever your imagination wants. Well, if they are on the same wireless network you can sync them so whatever pattern one is doing the others will do as well. This saves a ton of messing about. Have a play with WLED and you won't bother with other stuff out there afterwards.. And Cheers Cine-Lights. I love your stuff and did build a VU meter a with 144 strip a while back. There is a VU meter version of WLED available but it's not as good as yours.

Glad to see you found WLED. Christian has put a ton of work into it...and he has some big updates in the future. You can make it music reactive with E1.31 using LEDFX.
Been using this for my holiday lights for a couple years and love it. If you two could put your heads together, I know something awesome could happen :) Loved the music for this vid...nice change. yeah i made mine a few months ago.. works well could have done with a few more leds per meter though.... i only got 44 for 1.5m so not that bright but i have more leds here to swap them out also used a 4amp power supply was originally using a poundland 2.1amp dual usb charger works ok with that but limits the current too much

why did yours cost 100 pound, i made a similar one like 2 years ago for $50 and it was 6 foot tall (i used 144led/m strip), mine is all metal (90° triangular led profiles), i made legs from led profiles as well and arc welded them to it, i modified an adaptor and put the esp8266 in it (i used small esp12e module with ams1117 regulator) it looks super clean as there is just an adaptor and a lamp plus its all metal, first of all you dont need a level shifter for such short wires, its practically useless, also instead of the level shifter if you use long wires, you can use a "sacrificial pixel" cut a ws2812b and use it next to the microcontroller and use its data out, as the output for the strip (what it will do is convert the 3.3v to 5v near the microcontroller, and thus the signal wont degrade over long wires), then in wled use skip first led option to skip that sacrificial pixel

Awesome project! Im getting into wled and led programming, but im not a hardware person. Can you make a video om how to wire everything together so it wont burn out or not work? I need a small solution ( i have seen tutorials with big boxes and converters). I need a small compact solution. Would be nice to power up to 5m 60led/meter discretly plug and play.
