About Pussykrew

Pussykrew is a interdisciplinary duo (Polish born, currently based in Shanghai), creating 3D imagery, multimedia installations, visual forms and sculptures. They've exhibited their works internationally, including Saatchi Gallery London, Carrousel du Louvre Paris and Transmediale Festival. Pussykrew explores post-human concepts, corporeal aesthetics and fluid identities with their synthetic-organic notions, constantly searching for liminal states within the digital realm.

Can she remain unflawed? She has become nothing more than a statue surrounded by surreal environments. Identity becomes a game, however she remains in control of the computed bodies. She breaks the stereotypes of gender roles and constructs to manifest a different notion of cyborgian identity. Sevdaliza’s husky vocals float over a mechanical bed that excites masculine energy and sexual adrenaline. As the song continues, a rhythmic tension builds slowly into a chaotic climax. Idk if you guys feel it too, but I think Sevdaliza does some awesome deep reflections about the built of a virtual character of yourself that defies your humanity. Listening to the song and watching the video all together, looks like the this virtual construction of a real girl (made by her pics in social media and stuff) would like to be the person who actually is taking the pics and building this image, and talks about this guy who just knew this fake emulation of her. And the 3D animations have a lot to do with it because it isn't really Sevdaliza, it's some image with a fluid and false "form or shape". Anyway, might be just the way I see it amongst the many possible ways to see this.

Her music was a constant part of my life since I was 15. I really remember discovering this song when I was scrolling through YouTube at 2am. This was somehow recommended to me and it was the best thing ever. Now I'm 20 and this music is a part of my soul.

I just found Sevdaliza yesterday night and holy fuck. Her voice is so unique, her lyrics are simple but so honest and complex, the music videos are all so stunning, and the amount of thought put into every song and video is insane. Instant favourite artist.

at first listen/watch this seems like a song about her partner cheating on her, but then the end of the video shows a wall of other instagram posts by women...seems symbolic of the control that a patriarchal society has on women. how it makes us envious of other women (want to be THAT OTHER GIRL) without realizing we strip ourselves of the freedom to be human in the process, hurting ourselves in the effort to be seen as worthwhile in the eyes of a patriarchal society.
