To avoid (breakup) Karmen vortex street forming, which induces a cyclic loading or fluttering. This is potentially dangerous if the periodic vortex shedding is close to the natural resonance frequency.

Well conceptualized explanations. Thanks a lot
The spiral vanes are used to reduce the total drag force and vibrations
- By reducing the projected area
- On the drag coefficient diagrams use streamlined cylinder instead of smooth cylinder
Could you share your drag coefficient diagrams?

Hello, I am new in this situation. And i have a small question ^^. How can I apply the wind load into the model?
1. Point load (18.5kN) at the center of projected area
2. Distributed load (18.5/10 =1.85kN/m) on tower from bottom to top
Thanks in advanced!

Hello! Could you please tell me the source of the drag coefficient diagram? Thank you!

My question is that where to apply the force. On the centre of tower? No sure!!
