TAYLORMADE Qi IRONS | The Swing Report

The TaylorMade Qi Irons, new in 2024, are designed with a new face technology that is built to eliminate "cut" spin, generating straighter golf shots. Meanwhile, the TaylorMade Qi irons also boast a progressive center of gravity so that the longer irons are higher-launching and more forgiving, while the shorter irons are more controllable and precise.

Just played my first round with the qi10 irons.. I've played about 2.5-3 years. Not even kidding.. got a hole-in-one on the 17th hole, 140 yards. Have 5 witnesses, a certificate framed, and free golf vouches to prove it. Love these irons!!

Honestly, these irons were everything they said they were. I could have purchased any set I wanted to this evening, and numbers with these were the best. Almost 190 with a 7 iron with a 7100 spin rate. I could pull them left but had to hang on and try to do so. Right miss was not there. Even hitting it on the toe was still a straight flight. Lost a little distance with a toe hit but nothing close to what irons do.

Personally, as a fellow golf professional, I always look forward to your reviews. I would spend a great deal of time at 2nd Swing but The problem is that I live on the Northern Border of Vermont and Quebec and you are in Minnesota. Ignore the “Nay Sayers”. Keep up the great content!

Kevin, Which iron do you prefer? Ai Smoke or Qi 10? Thanks, Joe

I just got my set of Qi irons and noticed the hosel/neck of the 5-8 irons is different and jagged/edged. The 9 and wedges have a smooth hosel/neck.
Take the 8 and 9 iron out and swing them in the air. You'll hear a very audible difference between the 2. It's almost like there's a lot more drag in the air with the 5-8 irons, than the 9 and wedges.
Anyone else notice this? I noticed it immediately like something was wrong or loose...

Love watching these videos! When thinking about hybrids… would you suggest getting hybrids that match the iron set or match the woods? I hit the AI smoker driver the best, but hit the qi10 irons the best.

These are stupidly strong lofted. We’re moving to a 5 bag wedge set up soon.

So I usually shoot low 80’s. Was it a good option to get these clubs?

So let's see... these are game improvement irons and you have a low handicap, who would never even use these irons, and can hit a 7iron 200 yards. This makes no sense. Get a 15 handicaper to try these types of clubs. You guys have to be smarter than this.

Quality irons haven't really changed much in the last few years or even decades unlike drivers. By delofting where you in reality are hitting a 5 iron branded as a 6 gives the illusion the shots are going farther. Sweet spots on forged cavities are quite forgiving & of course they feel forged pure. Just saw a set of very old Hogans in a Goodwill. Players would be wise to use these during practice sessions in order to better find the dime sized sweet spot & then go to their modern irons for the course with the massive cavity back sweet spots. If you can get it down to puring the Hogans during practice the modern irons will be so much easier to hit.

Interesting descriptions..., eliminate "cut" spin..., not draw-biased but anti-fade..., anti-slice..., I'll add some words too.., like nebulous, amorphous, vague..., the only thing I got was Stealth line was a failure.

I understand this is not the opinion of everyone but for me the price of clubs have just gone way to far. .
