Let me correct you. Kalamata is first famous for its extra virgin olive oil and second for olives.Also the drinking water is indeed of quality and very safe. In mainland Greece the drinking Water is safe everywhere. Be careful only on the islands.

Great Video, but the supermarket is pronounced „Leedle“ (like needle), not „little“ or „(l)idol“. 😂 Regarding the furnished apartment: normally these are only available through the off season (sometimes also shoulder season). So if you want something permanent, you should look for unfurnished.

I must have missed you because I was there last month also. As a French, I'll retire in Greece, having studied there and worked there. Greece is a great country, of course far from perfect, especially with the local corruption of the health system. It's famous among Greeks the "Edwsa ena fakelo"... Also a side note : Foreigners are NOT allowed to buy evrywhere in Greece. It depends if you're part of the EU or not, some districts are restricted for non-EU residents for buying properties.

More places to visit a stay awhile, than I Think I have years left or will be Allowed to travel freely? Thanks to you, I'm more confused with soooo many choices ! 😊

I love Greece but it is pretty dead in the winter. The Peleponese has many sites to visit like Sparta, Corinth, Olympia Mycenae, and Argo. Sorry for the spelling. Also Patras is close which has many supermarkets and shops.

Hi Dan - I've watched a few of your videos now and appreciate the low and medium finance breakdowns that offer. When it comes to rent, what kind of lease terms have you found to be the norm in most of these countries for the rates you are showing? 3, 6, 12 months? Do I have to have a particular kind of VISA to sign into a lease agreement? Or, is it case by case for each country? The reason I ask is that I would like to take advantage of the lowest rent possible for the shortest duration most of the time because I plan to travel through different countries, not retire. I'm sure anything is negotiable to a point, but would like to have all options avaiable. For example, the wife and I talked doing a 3-6 month rental in Turkey using Istanbul as a home base, then take 3-4days trips from there because travel in Turkey is relatively modest. Is there a specific webite you use for searching rentals that work in most countries, or do you search for rentals within each country? Thank you for the great content.
