Great video. Just a note, the substance sprayed at 5:44 is called a tack coat, its main purpose is to bind the new layer of asphalt to the existing (in cases where there is existing asphalt below); it is unnecessary in situations where the pavement is built from 'the ground up'.

The surface paving is usually the easiest AND FASTEST part.

Most of these videos on Youtube only show this part of the job.

The earthworks, then a GOOD sub-grade, sub-base and base, THAT'S WHAT TAKES TIME TO BUILD A ROAD.... and the part where if you mess up, don´t compact properly, etc, will result in surface problems.

Buying one of these machines is easy.

The difficult part is getting parts for maintenance, if the machine creator does not have a local parts supplier.

And construction machines DO BREAK. Oh yeah... they DO BREAK!

Road construction in my country is insane too, many potholes start to appear after 2-3 months.

You totally forget about the driver of the truck. We use dump trucks to feed the paver, 10yrd a truck
