Very exciting. Drupal 8 seems the way to go now. For a while I struggled with Drupal 6 and then switched to WordPress but this and other videos might lure me back to Drupal.

Nice presentation. I was avoiding learning anything about D8 because I was dreading having to make the switch from D7 but now I'm actually excited about it.

SUPPER AMAZING! I've been using Drupal 7 and Drupal Gardens for a couple of years and I refuse to use anything else because of the community and how powerful it is, so question... will Drupal Gardens be changing to Drupal 8's core type interface?

Testinstalled the beta... first thing... its 11.000 files. That took me 30 minutes just to upload the core drupal. My last Drupal6 Site _bloated_ with moduls still has only 6500 files. But its cool.

Fast forward to early Spring 2016, and Drupal8 is working fairly well. It's not incredibly intuitive, and it grinds my gears at times, and most Drupal8 hosts don't even supply the correct PHP version even if you demand it. So... The Drupal8 revolution is still gaining traction by the mass public because 1.) Acquia promotes really crummy 3rd party hosts. and 2.) Most hosts have zero idea what Drupal8 is at all. They just want to have you use Wordpress because it's better for lazy people.

Drupal8 doesn't even come with CKEditor [UPDATE - YEAH IT DOES, IM FIGURING OUT HOW TO ENABLE IT NOW] for editing text beyond Bold or Italic. At least, have a recommended modules page when I'm installing Drupal8. So I can just check what I need. Such as a background image. Or "Insert YouTube Video". It's just that a lot of Drupal8 is still missing most of GoogleSites super-easy features. That said, GoogleSites is insanely limited compared to Drupal8's advanced features.

Drupal8 is my current site and I adore it, but learning the graphical editor has become a bit mind boggling. Designed by coders for coders. :P

I think Drupal9 (a decade from now..?) will be a fine balance of being able to accomplish anything via the graphical interface, and the code interface.

I'm still learning it...But learning GoogleSites non-technical features is sooo much easier. I'm learning fast though.
