I was really baffled by the external division thing!
Then I realized, this conceptual problem can be skipped if we don't use these special terms internal/ external.
Think, All we are trying is to find the ratio of PA/PB ( given that AB is the line, P is a random point on the XY plane ).
In both cases, we are just trying to find the PA/PB.
The problem mainly occurs on the external divison's case.
But if we just focus on finding the ratio of PA/PB, this whole thing becomes much easier to grasp.
