Thanks! It will only work perfectly if one is sampling from a normally distributed population. But, for large sample sizes, it will work reasonably well for other distributions. I look into the effect of sampling from different types of distribution in my "Confidence Intervals for One Mean: Assumptions" video.

I'm not sure what you're asking. This video explains how to get the needed sample size for a given margin of error and confidence level. We'd also need to know the variance, or have a reasonable estimate of it, in order to find the minimum sample size.

how would i find sample size with 90% confidence interval and 2.5 % margin of error? im confused
