This weeks video is one I have been meaning to do for some time after extoling the virtues of many glazes in my Glaze Kiln Opening videos.

This is my Top 10 (well 11!) Amaco Brush-On Glazes. Great for the beginner who wants to get a palette of colours to work with and add to over time.

These Amaco Brush-On Glazes are readily available from most Clay Stockists and range in price from around £13.00 to £16.00 per pint bottle.

I hope you enjoy delving into my Top 10 Glazes. Let me know yours!

Your favorites are my favorites! For reds, I like coyote's passion red. I did a tropical seedpod recently with obsidian pods and passion red leafs. The two worked together wonderfully. Thank you for all your help along my clay journey.

Excellent video Sarah . I have them all except rainforest and seaweed but my studio has a gallon of seaweed so I really do have it. . I decided on storm instead of rainforest but feel like I need to have rainforest now. I do love sky and ancient copper . I got a bunch more for Christmas and have test tiles/ test tiny bowls drying so I can test them . I have about 20 combos on my list. Love all your videos. They fire at a hot cone 6 in my studio and I feel my textured turquoise go a bit yellow and patchy but I am going to try the obsidian TT combo and hopefully I get some nice colors. 💕

Seaweed over rainforest is a fantastic combo - and it comes out extremely shiny!

Hi Sarah! I love when you discuss glazes. I will have to rewatch the earlier video where you show many you invented by mixing them together! That video blew me away!! In that video, you mixed weeping plum with snow and created a delicate, soft pink. I now use this pink exclusively!! Mayco's Pink Opal is too much!, Weeping Plum, alone, too plum, but the beauty of the mixed new Celedon is magic! Thank you from Farmington Hills, Michigan USA!

Wow Thank you for this information !! It takes me long to figure the glazes. I do not have a kiln of my own yet. I could only get Mayco. Just recently I found the Amaco.

Thank you for sharing your top 10 Sarah- with examples and test tiles, really helpful. I am a beginner but got into handbuilding because I am fascinated by glazing and the infinite combinations. I will admit to 36 Potters choice and Celadon glazes but I live in the middle of nowhere and I hate ordering online. When I get to civilization, I stock up. I have most of your top 10 and would add ancient copper as my 11th! Sadly it has been discontinued. Mayco are not as expensive as Amaco and I see some interesting combos with those glazes. Just got a sample box of 12 4 oz jars for $35 which seems like a good buy in order to try them out. Anyway, love your videos, you make such a difference to us beginners, and you do make me laugh! I found your thank you spot too. Keep up the great work. Jan

Hi Sarah, thanks for a really interesting video. I only use Mayco at the moment so your top 11 Amaco glazes are giving me ideas. My favourite glazes are raspberry mist, Norse blue, lavender mist, midnight rain, aurora green and the light and dark fluxes. Hope you had a lovely Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family. Can’t wait for the next video ❤

Hello Sarah, a very good combination for me is also: River Rock (PC 67) under Oatmeal 😊… With Amaco glazes we get so much wunderfull results in soooo much variants of combination. Thank you for this video! Through you I have heard from Amaco glazes and now they are my faforites ☺️… best regards, Ines 🤗

Amaco snow is the perfect canvas for painting on as it doesn’t smudge once applied. I have used underglazes, glazes and oxide washes as paints, the design stays in place perfectly, I fire to 1220c

What a great video. I recently picked up a pint of Snow, and will be giving it a try. I have always loved Blue Rutile and Oatmeal, and am always amazed at the magic they provide when paired with other glazes. You look amazing and adorable with the Pony tail. Always love seeing what you have going on there in your lil piece of heaven! Thank You Miss S, sending love and New Year Blessings your way!

50/50 mix rainforest and Marigold gives a really pretty green. I do love blue rutile under textured turquoise. The layering combos are endless. You gave me some new ones to try, thank you. I agree with you that Iron lustre under oatmeal is stunning. I'm have to get glacier it's one I haven't tried. Deep Firebrick and Ancient copper would be on my list. It's really hard to keep to a top 10. Great video.

Great fun again ... deep firebrick and seaweed works for us especially on on our fish forms. 2x 2 in any order for a slight difference. Thanks Sara.
