Rory McIlroy: Common-sense prevailed over LIV ruling

Rory McIlroy has welcomed what he describes as a "common sense" decision of a federal judge to rule against three LIV Golf players who had sought a temporary restraining order to allow them to contest the FedEx Cup play-offs.

I wasn’t a big fan of Rory before all this happened but he has gone up a lot in my estimation how he has spoken and handled himself over the liv golf question and I am sure he’s sick to death of answering the press questions on it. Here’s a thought, some of the players who have gone to liv have said they want to play less golf, if that’s the case why do they want to play some tournaments on the pga tour ? Why don’t they just say they have gone for the money, as Rory has said it’s up to them, Sergio especially won’t be missed by me

Looks like he’s sick talking about it and no wonder. LIV players are ridiculous thinking they can force PGA to allow them to play because they are free agents ! By the same logic, the PGA is free to say yes or no to whomever that want to allow to use their platform. (Management reserve the right to refuse entry type scenario!)

This type of coverage is getting old, quick. The PGA and European tours just need to accept there’s a new competitor in the market that offers way better earning potential for the workers (sorry, players).
PGA allowed players to go and take part in the Asia Tour events (Singapore Open), but as soon as there’s a rival tour scheduling events in the same country, it’s a problem.

Oh no, Rory really should stick with 'no comment'. People are increasingly confused by his seemingly inconsistent opinion. Everyone should assume that the PGA Tour will need to collaborate with Liv Golf at some point in the future. Liv Golf will not be cancelled, it will simply continue to evolve.
