In the problem 6 -9 = 3 I have an alternate solution. Move the top horizontal line of the equals sign and place it above the minus sign between the 6 and 9 so that it reads 6=9-3

For the last one, I thought of taking the vertical stick from the '+' sign and putting it on the lower left of the 9 but reading it as a letter, so B - 7 = 4 which is correct in hexadecimal.

For the first one, I moved the middle segment of the first 8 to the empty space in the 9 to make it 8 + 0 = 8.

On #4 you could make it 8-6=2 by making the 5 into a 6.

In the second equation (6-9=3), if you remove a stick at the 9, so that it becomes a 3, and add the remaining stick at a position where there is already a stick, so that 2 sticks overlap perfectly, you get the following equation (6-3=3)

The problem 8-5=2 has an alternate solution i.e. turn 5 into six.

Remove the top-left vertical stick from the first number(9) to make it 3. Put that stick you removed horizontally in front of the 3 to make it -3. So the equation will now look like this: -3 + 7 = 4 which is correct.

Simply move the stick at the base of the number 9 and place it so that it crosses the = sign. Now we have 8+9 is NOT = to 8. A totally valid answer.

I find the ones where you have to slide the match stick easier than the ones where you have to pivot the match stick

For #3, you could also remove the vertical match from the + sign and put it diagonally across the equals sign. 9 - 7 does not equal 4.

9 + 7 = 4, I found 3 solutions. 1) move the vertical from the plus sign to the equal sign, as Not Equal, you have 9 - 7 Not Equal to 4. 2) move the top left vertical of the 9 to the equal sign, Not Equal, you have 3 + 7 Not Equal to 4. 3) move the top right vertical of the 9 to the equal sign, as Not Equal, you have 5 + 7 Not Equal to 4.

In many of these, I'd just take a match out of the addition sign and put it diagonally over the equals sign to make it not equal, and I won't have to use my brain cell to think too hard! ;)

In the problem 6 -9 = 3 I also have an alternate solution. Move the upper left vertical line of the 9 and place it above the middle horizontal line of the 9 to produce a 3, leaving 6 - 3 = 3.
