I've realized that almost nothing is ever gonna be 'new info' for me, and I just watch for the familiarity of Mills' voice and catch phrases + hoping that "repeating the words into my brain enough" will help it become autopilot behavior more strongly lol

i solo q in silver as a women. i was diamond in ow1 and took a long break and got re placed in silver. every time i try and use comms i'm constantly getting harassed by my teammates. idk whats going on but im constantly getting players with less than 100 hours or don't know the basics of the game like counter picks and team comps. im really stuck and really dont know what to do.

The overwhelming communication I get from my teammates in response to ANY communication, text or otherwise, in gold and below that I have received has been some variation of "STFU" or "KYS". I'm going to be honest here, if you're in Bronze don't join voice, and hit ctrl-shift-C to turn off text chat. Just use pings. People won't even understand your calls anyway.

Communicating is a little better in high gold or low plat but for bronze and silver, just comms off, head down, and carry yourself out.

The thing with communication, I've also seen that just saying "whats up" or "hello" at the start of a match gives other players confidence to mic up

I found out that being in comms and keeping text chat on really distract me from my gameplay. So I turned off comms this season and I'm playing better and more focused

then there's me, somebody that almost only solo queues.. 80% of my games have a 2-3 stack group that just blame whoever isn't in their group and refuse to join vc

Mills with the philosophy!! You just helped me realize that right now, I Am afraid of losing, because the priority at the top of my mind isn't necessarily to improve (that's #2) but to get an accurate rank.
I didn't do comp for the first 4 years of OW1. Then when I did, I placed gold/plat. Then by the end if OW1, I was teetering between bronze and silver. That was confusing because my rank as going down as I felt I was improving at the game 5-6 years in. Then when OW2 came out and had the bugged biased rank adjustments my ass got put in bronze 5. I don't have time to play much these days, and the S2 and S3 rank decays did me dirty as well.
Long story short, my weird relationship with comp, and the weird ranking mistakes blizz was making in OW2 makes me not trust the ranking system (here's to hoping season 4 is better). Which is why I am afraid of losing, because I just want to know what rank I am 😂😭

And if you're solo queuing and see a Moira on your team. Pick a character that has a heal passive, because Moira will REFUSE to heal you
