If you look at the flag of modern-day India or the money changing hands between modern-day Indians you may be surprised to discover that they have a link to an Emperor that reigned more than 2000 years ago.

He is one of if not the only powerful ruler in world history that tried to conquer by way of morality, and his giant stone pillars, once lost to the sands of time, but now raised again from the Earth tell the story of a complicated man, once bloodthirsty and then tranquil. A man that transformed Buddhism from a small philosophical sect into a global religion. But could his entire legacy be made up? Ancient propaganda still working today. We’ll look at all of this and more on this double episode on the life and legacy of Ashoka the Great.

As an Indian Buddhist, he's extremely important to us. Buddhism is relatively uncommon in India, but he did facilitate its spread around the world. Shows that no one is beyond redemption.

Chanakya, the teacher of Ashoka the great and his grandfather (yup) was a living legend. He overthrown biggest empire in ancient India with the help of just one poor shepherd. And that's beacuse only 2 reasons, he wanted to unite whole India to fight against Alexander the Great and to reveng from Nanda dynasty who insulted him in the past.

You can try doing a video on King Bharath, Bharath(India) is named after him. As he was not just an able and noble king, he had 4 sons but saw none had the competence to take care so went around the lengths and breaths of Bharath to find the competent person who can take care of the land.

Please read about king shivaji maharaj. I bet you will regret never that. He is one of the greatest but most underrated king of India. He was not just great warrior and general but great leader and ideal leader as well.

At time of shivaji maharaj, 5 major players were ruling India.

1) mughal empire (richest empire of that time), adeelshai dynasty (second most powerful after mughals), siddis( fierce african warriors), Portuguese and Britishers.

2]Situation of that time was totally against anyone who wanted to create his own sovergin state. Those whoe tried it were miserably failed.

3] Governers and rulers of those days were brutally oppressing people. Rape was a comman thing. Subjects of the rulers were being treated as objects. And any revolt against this tyranny was resulted into nothing but tragic faliures.

4] In such a days, one day *at age of 14* shivaji maharaj gathered some of his friends and told them idea of *swarajya*, a sovereign kingdom where everybody will have freedom and justice. That time shivaji has no funds, not weapons, no 'trained' soliders and not any external support.

5]At the very beginning of his tiny kingdom he has to immediately face invasions of mughal empire and a adeelshahi dynasty.

6] His army was always outnumbered in battle. But miraculously shivaji maharaj was able to defeat most of the invaders and was able to create powerful mighty hindavi swaranya.

7]Besides this his governance, adminstarion, religious tolerance and respect towards woman makes him one of the greatest kings of India.

These are not even 1 percent of his story. Please read books about him and try to make video on him
