I have been using these two tools for many years to find wiring issues in airplane looms. For me what sets the 200EP apart from the rest is the (not mentioned) headset socket. I can quickly find a bad wire in a big loom (some looms have dozens of wires in a run) but to get to the individual wire I plug in my ear buds set the sensitivity to minimum and work through the wire bundle until I can pick out the individual wire that has the "trembler signal" (I call it that) injected to it. I also have the Sperry Wire Tracker although over the year I note my preference to the Greenlee pair. Tip for complex wire breaks I never use this tool with any power on the plane, I disconnect the batteries too. I learnt quickly in the 1980's that any "power on" condition can have you following a wild goose chase - don't get egg on your face! Just power down and use flashlights if its a dark area.

See if your unit still works. Pulled my unit out after in hot van and no. Has power to switch inside. Didnt do much more troubleshooting..?? Did it fry from heat in hot van?? Strange
