I've a weird memory of being a student in the town about 25 years ago. A couple of nights a week we'd make our own chicken curry but we'd get a takeaway chips feom Greasy Mollys. When it was my turn to get the chips, I'd usually have a sneaky pint in Connollys while I was waiting.
Best chips in the town and best pint also.

Morahan’s bar in county Roscommon is steeped in history, the Guinness is great too. Highly worth a visit, a hidden gem

Love this place. Used to watch all The Arsenal games in there with a bunch of Africans when I lived in Sligo for 7 years. Great times. Great Guinness. Always go back for a visit and a few pints. Favourite pub in the world. Miss the old owner Gerry, but it’s in good hands still.

My Sligo grandad was a major drinker in the 1930-1970 kept the pubs busy

A great pub to visit, first class service, you won't be waiting long for a drink. All bar staff is first class.Cheers Paul.

I enjoyed an hour or so in Thomas Connolly's a month ago. Their locally brewed red ale was wonderful, and the music that night was good too. Excellent bar if you're a whiskey aficionado (I am not)... extensive collection of fine whiskeys. I went back the next night but couldn't squeeze into the back door due to a very popular musician playing and his adoring women admirers!

If u want to visit another authentic irish pub, go to the BEACH BAR in templeboy county Sligo . The food and pints are second to none.
