Fantastic Free Camping And Fishing Spot | Waikato Hydro Dams | NZ Trout Fishing

Fishing and Camping in the Waikato Region of New Zealand could not be any better.
There are many free camping and fishing spots near the many Hydro Lakes of the Waikato River.
The Whakamaru Reserve is our favourite freedom camp. And it is a perfect spot for launching kayaks or small boats and catching fish. In this episode, we also met up with Peter from @BasicFishingNZ
This lake holds good numbers of feisty rainbow and brown trout. They are fun to catch on spinners or even on fly fishing gear. It's also a good spot for land-based fishing as there are many good options for shore access.

haha a tragic loss on ur fly reel. was an interesting session for sure. that underwater shot of the brown was awesome. really need to try the deeper lakes of rotorua next time i decide to go after trout again

The guy on the kayak sounded familiar im shore he has a YouTube channel as well fishing one
