Using a scale of 1 to 10 team battle/compete level was an 11. Best game of the year so far.
Lots of credit to Coach. He seems to always push the right buttons at the right time. Love the way he puts Emberson out with Ekholm in high pressure situations where Bouchard might not be a good fit. How I wish we still had Broberg! He's the puck moving defenseman the team needs to pair up with Nurse. Hopefully, we can find a good one, whether it be Klingberg or someone else.

Had to endure the US broadcast. Funny how their tone changed after the game was tied. Bouch looked bush league on McKinnon goal. I did like the scoring being spread out . Philp did not look out of place. Oil too predictable on the PP. Stu was strong after the 3rd goal. Another 2 points now the Nucks up next.

Still feeling awful and still waiting on eye surgery so personal comments will be limited.

Okay, look, most of us have heard the phrase "We can do this the Easy Way or the Hard Way" in our time but, for the Oilers, it just seems to be "We're going to do this the hard way and we'll still WIN" is more the motto. This was actually impressive. They were behind 3 - 0 at the 12 minute mark of the first period on the back end of a back to back (and 3rd game in 4 nights in 4 different cities) where they've played in four timezones in the last week and a bit. The Av's were rested. The Oilers were not (and were playing in the mile high city that can make many rested players gasp for breath if they have a shift longer than 20 seconds). By the end of the 2nd period we were all tied up at 3.

This game after they were down 3 - 0 the Oilers could have phoned it in just to get it overwith but they didn't. They don't give up. They know they can score and they know they can defend (though sometimes you question BOTH).

They even outshot the Avs (27 to 25) and both teams were 100% on the PK (and 0% on the PP).

Right now Edmonton is tied with Vegas at the top of the Pacific standings with 61 points (though Vegas has a game in hand). The Oilers face Vancouver next (who are a dumpster fire of late) and Vegas faces the Hurricanes (who have won 3 of their last 5 and can beat any team in the league on any given night).

Stu let in 3 of the first 6 shots for Colorado then shut the door for the next 48 minutes where Blackwood had never let in more than 2 before this and the Oilers got past him 4 times.

This was a great game.

Please somebody tell Bouchard to not look at the puck, particularly when MacKinnon is carrying it, but look the puck carrier in the chest and take the body. 12 year old defensemen know this.
