Growing push to ban cashless businesses in LA

Three LA City Council members are pushing to ban cashless businesses in the city. Councilmember Heather Hutt introduced the motion last year. She joined FOX 11 to talk about the renewed push, which the council could vote on by the summer.

I agree with banning cashless businesses. Why isnt cash good enough? Cash worked before & some people dont have access to cashless methods (children, elderly, the poor).

This LA City Council member is just ignorant and uneducated. She was asked twice same question, but she keeps talking like she cares about businesses losing 20%. If businesses are OK losing that 20%, that is their business, not getting some absurd law abusing their rights. How people end up electing these kinds of idiots. Has she ever run any business at all?

It would be a problem if every business was cashless but that's not the case, businesses have the right to deny service and or deny certain payments. As is it your choice as a customer to not go to the businesses.

Why are they focusing on unbanning cashless businesses? In small business only. They need the big corporations to unban these cashless businesses. Let the small business charge however they want. Cash/Credit/Debit. Look out for the Small Business. Corporations get away with a lot of BS.

It’s not safe to carry cash as a business. This lady did not address a solution when she was asked that question

Plenty of PUBLIC businesses and cashiers already refuse cash! Like the FlyAway requires you to use a credit card, and many City and State agencies require you to pay by check or money order. I think private businesses should be able to choose whatever they accept but public companies should always have to accept cash.
