Wat I do with my castings. I screw a orbital sander to my mould. After casting i switch the sander on, let it vibrate for 5+ minutes. This make the epoxy enter every crack and make hidden air escape.

I like it and definitely not saying anything negative about it but I, personally, would have liked just the board with handles on it without the epoxy on the sides.

Golden looks beautiful. But clear on the sides, too doesn't add luster to the wood. The customer is always right when ordering. I bet gold on the sides would have made the tray more appealing to me. I love it when you add color to the outline areas of the wood.

i do not like epoxy for anything on which food comes in contact with ... other wise it looks great ... but it would look better as a decorating object on the wall ...like a painting ... and make a series ...out of them

I think with this one, I would have preferred it if you had left it without the clear epoxy to square it off, and just put handles on either end of the live edge; maybe using a slightly wider piece of slab to accommodate handles in either end. I do like the gold in the void, though. Beautiful grain and a lovely job on the sanding, too!

It's beautiful however, NO serving tray is worth $500.00 regardless of how much work/time/materials is put into it.

Its much like building a $2 million home in a neighborhood where all other homes sell for $150, 000. You will NEVER get your money back when you go to sell.
