This series is truly exceptional. You appear to be the only reviewers who present in-depth analysis beyond mere test drives. Bravo!!

Regarding auto insurance in the US, a great Amica rep told me to actaully increase my coverages from very minumun amounts and that would lower my costs. I increased my coverages and sure enough, my rates went down...turns out, people who select the super bottom state minumuns coverages are a GREATER risk to the insurance company....amazing!

911 for Winter? Absolutely! We had a 2020 911 (992) Carrera 4, on lease, and winter drove it for 3 Winters in Quebec with icy and snowy roads. We bought smaller wheels (20-19) instead of the stock 21-20 and had Nokian Hakkapellitta's installed. Combined with the AWD, the engine in the rear and the tyres, it was one of the best snow vehicles we have ever owned. In 3 years, we had 1 occasion where snowfall accumulation was too deep and we called a Cab until the roads were well cleared. My friends from Finland don't bat an eye at winter driving their 911's. Buy it - drive it!

Back in the 1960s growing up in Winnipeg, I used to always watch the ice racing on the Red River. It's the first place, in 1966, that I saw a 911 driven in anger. And I was enthralled! Of course, up until that day, the 356 had been the gold standard on the ice, but that new bright Orange 6 cylinder 911S was fantastic! The driver won every heat and the finals, drifting all the turns way out in front. He was racing on Hakkapeliittas, narrow 165/80 x 15 with studs. It was 2 wheel drive of course. Your fan should make his dream come true with a base 2wd 911 and drive happily ever after.

Another great QC&C.
I'm glad to hear the Miata stays. It seems like an automotive soulmate for Andrea. Also, I'd bet it's timeless fun, still bringing smiles decades later.

Hi guys, great show...and I’m not speculating....😊....regarding insurance, yes we all have to buy from ICBC, and actually I’m not a knocker of ICBC, not buying any pom-poms to cheerlead or anything, but I’ve had to deal with ICBC quite a bit throughout my driving career, which began the year before ICBC was created, and I’ve got to say I’ve always received great service from them, involving very fair settlements for 3 write-offs.

But regarding ways to save on insurance, are you not able to shop around with private insurers on any optional coverages, and are those options any cheaper than ICBC? Or at least cheaper enough to account for the extra hassle and administrivia dealing with what two insurers must create?

Followed your advice and took the two car seats before shopping for a three row. Worked out perfectly to eliminate a lot of cars and finally bought an Atlas. Very happy with it, the car seat friendly tilt and availability of bench on top trim was the deciding factor between Atlas and Grand Highlander.

Well, I did my list with cars for couple years😂 We started to test drive them with my wife to be sure they’re okay for both of us. Eventually we decided it’s time to buy and we found this beautiful deal on VW Tiguan - 0.99% financing. It’s really great vehicle which suites all of our needs and we’re planning to have it for 5 years. I am super happy with all features

I moved from the lower mainland to the Kootenays, 10 years ago, and my icbc insurance dropped to 2/3s of what it had been. Also, keeping your record clean with icbc really pays off in discounts. Oh yeah, and I drive an old pickup 😂

In my area, having snow tires gets a small insurance discount.

Buying a car: I get my info from your programs, from Guide de l'auto of Quebec for fun to drive and from Consumer Reports for reliability/ratings. I need the cargo space for Florida, I want great seats and ride comfort. I could not find a better SUV than my 2019 RDX - 5 year ownership zero problem - so I simply bought another one .
