San Diego saw a substantial drop in daily COVID-19 cases this week, raising optimism that the local situation is improving. Over a two-day period, the case rate dipped below 100 per 100,00 people. If that trend continues, the county could be removed from the state watch-list. To our east, Imperial County is approaching 10,000 cases since March.
