If the WNBA knows what’s best for their league they won’t let the Mercury have the #1 overall pick in 2024

Bueckers is not leaving UConn after this coming year. She’s basically missed two years of playing. I would expect her to come out in 25’ along with Azzi Fudd.

It doesn't matter who gets the #1 pick -- Paige and Caitlin are making FAR more NIL money than they will make playing in the W. They will both stay in college one more year and exit in 2025.

If I were Caitlin Clark, I'll use my 5th year in college. Things will change after DT retires....

I can totally see Beuckers and Angel Reese staying an extra year

Caitlin Clark has 2 years of college eligibility left. No WNBA team can afford to pay her as much as she makes from NIL.

I think the Mercury makes some big moves this off season. I don’t think they’ll keep Diana another year and force her to retire and they trade SDS(she’s too much drama) they finally got rid of the coach which is a step in the right direction.

I recorded this *before* Vanessa’s firing. I think it’s a step in the right direction but there’s a lot more than still has to be done.

I just now discovered this channel as an NBA fan who wants to start getting into the WNBA a bit more. Gotta say, right off the bat, your narrating style kinda reminds me of UrinatingTree lol. Glad to see some good WNBA content that actually talks about the sport itself and the players instead of just the negative aspects of the league as a whole. Keep it up 🔥

Bueckers will not be leaving UConn next year. She has already made it clear she not only wants to get an undergrad degree, but also likely a masters or at least start on a masters. In addition, she can make exponentially more money NIL money competing for an NCAA championship than she can with a WNBA contract. Edwards and Fudd both have 2 years of eligibility remaining and neither will likely be looking to leave early. Ice Brady, the #3 overall recruit in her class will likely become a force inside this upcoming year. When you look at their backcourt and front court depth they could easily contend for back to back Nat Championships in 2023-24 and 2024-25 assuming they can stay healthy. They've now got front court depth they have not had in years, and their backcourt when healthy is the best overall group in the nation.

Even after they told Nygaard to "kick rocks", the team continued to show half-ass effort.
They have a 6-8 center who's an actual liability on defense. A 40 year old guard who's too enamored with herself to either make way or retire and a mean, pretty girl who always stirs things up.
No one in their right mind would want to play with that team.

Dude, you speaking some serious facts! I would love to get a Paige Becker on the Seattle Storm or a K Clark! Next year's batch of drafts will change the Dub!
But being drafted to Phonix is a career-ender!

Page has a red shirt, junior year. Senior year. And Covid year! She has three years of college eligibility left! Just letting everybody know that!

I've always had my doubts about Reese going to the WNBA at all -- I can totally see her just becoming a blogger or commentator... she could well end up living the life of a millionaire, without even dealing with the rigors of playing.

What if Aaliyah Edwards takes a step up from last year? If she plays to her potential she could be national player of the year!

A couple of things to mention. Even if Phoenix finishes with the worst record, there is no guarantee they get the top pick because the WNBA combines this and last season records to determine lottery odds for the four teams that miss the playoffs. So Indiana potentially could get the top pick next year again. Also the Mercury was involved in a four team trade with Chicago, Dallas and New York this past february in which they sent a 2025 first-round pick swap to the New York Liberty. So if Phoenix misses the playoffs, New York will get a lottery pick from Phoenix.

People are complaining about women's sports? The formula that could work for women's division, is to have better recruits and figure out coaching/play calls. If women were to support sports, by buying wnba jerseys and going to women's boxing matches. The international women players are also bound very soon. I think a conversation about this topic should happen.

Reminder that SDS forced herself off Dallas because she didn't want to play with ball dominant Arike
