There is a correction at 9:40 in question-5 we got the capacity 8626 in KJ/min., So kindly divide it by 60 to get capacity 144 in KW.

An air conditioning system using 80% outdoor air and 20% recycled air has the following designed conc

Indoor: 24°CDBT, 60% RH

Outdoor: 32°C; 15g/kg water

Sensitive heat gain 48kW

Latent heat gain 16kW

A) Answer the following questions

1. Give a synoptic air flow diagram of the described system

2. Extract the characteristics (DBT, WBT, H, RH, w, v) of both the internal and external airs fr psychrometric chart.

3. Calculate the mass flow rate of;

a. The supplied air

b. The recycled air

c. The outdoor air

4. Find the characteristics (DBT, WBT, H, RH, w, v) of the air at the inlet of the coiling coil

5. If the by-pass factor of the cooling coil is 0.15, deduce the value of the contact factor.

6. Determine the surface temperature of the cooling coil.

7. Calculate the sensible and latent loads on the cooling coil.

8. Deduce the sensible heat factor (SHF).

9. Calculate the power of the cooling coil.
