Minimum Viable Product and Pivoting: Crash Course Business Entrepreneurship #6

Imagine if the only videos on YouTube were people looking for love. That could have been the world we lived in! Before it had 1.9 billion users per day, YouTube started as a video-based dating service, complete with the truly excellent catchphrase: “Tune in, Hook Up.”

The reason they didn’t flop is because they were willing to listen and fundamentally change their business when their original idea didn’t meet the needs of their market. They were clever observers and nimble enough to pivot.

That feeling you get when your wife walks in on you watching what looks like a dating video....
Thanks for that Anna.

I was super confused at first and thought YouTube glitched out and gave me an Anna akana video with the wrong title

The problem with MVP mentality is that most of the time Business types are too tight with the $$$ when it comes time to move past the MVP. Most "Entrepreneur" types don't understand the concept of building in the ability to change or expand. This creates a situation where "minor" changes can cost more time and money than the MVP itself did.

Anyone got reminded of friends when Ross kept saying "pivot" while bringing up the couch?

Pivoting! That's the word. Since plans are nothing, planning is everything ;-) Great successful products or services develop by playing ping-pong with the market, as I happen to call it

I feel like Anna doesn't age, I remember her on RWJ's =3 channel way back in the early YouTube days. But she look mid twenties at most. But she can't be. Very interesting video also, just a thought I had.
